McDonald's to get a revamp.
Work is currently under way at the McDonald’s restaurant at The Swan Centre in Eastleigh as part of a project aimed at introducing new facilities and improving customers’ experience. The revamped restaurant will have eight new self-order kiosk screens, 50 new spaces for seating and a new children’s play area while table service is also set to be introduced. The digital kiosks are aimed at improving the speed and ease of ordering and will give customers the chance to browse the menu, look at nutritional information and personalise their meals.
Franchisee Tony Bennett, who owns and operates 12 restaurants across Hampshire, including the one at The Swan Centre, said: “These changes are designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible – whether that’s providing people with a chance to get to grips with using a tablet in a relaxed environment, or providing parents with a quick and easy way of ordering their food. When ordering with the new kiosks customers will have the option to make different food choices, for example swapping fries for a side salad or adding a fruit bag to their children’s Happy Meal.”
The company has also confirmed that more services could be introduced in the future with customers being able to customise the classic burgers or play interactive table-top games while sharing their meal.
The restaurant will reopen to the public on February 14 at 11am and will be opened by the Deputy Mayor.
