The Swan Centre makes Mother’s Day for Lorraine Kabashi
On Friday 24 March, The Swan Centre in Eastleigh rolled out the red
carpet for a very special local mother.
Lorraine Kabashi, aged 57 from West End, was nominated by her
daughter Kelly Sands, aged 37 from Chandlers Ford in a competition run at the
Centre to win a makeover and a new outfit and accessories.
Judges from shops within the Centre including Boots, Pep&Co and
New Look selected Lorraine from dozens of nominations.
“My mum is my idol, my rock, and
she is the most selfless person I have had the honour to spend my life with.
She has had a tough, painful and heart breaking life yet she oozes with
happiness and pride in everything she does”, said Kelly on why she nominated
her mother. “If I am half the mum she is then I have done an amazing job! She
deserves the world let alone a pamper day”.
Lorraine and Kelly started their day with a coffee and a consultation
at Costa with stylists Jessica Eades and Didde Thomson-Wasilewski.
The pampering then continued with hairstyling at Titanium Hair
make-up by the No 7 team at Boots.
After this the stylists Jessica and Didde joined forces with staff
from New Look and David Mellor Jewellers to fashion a new look for the
At New Look the winner chose a green top with blue high-waisted
ripped jeans and a biker jacket to create a classic look for spring 2017. The
outfit was accessorized with a sparkling purse and heels to match the jacket,
as well as a rose gold Sif Jakobs pendant necklace from David Mellor Jewellers.
Lorraine also received some £150 sunglasses from Boots Optician, a free lunch
from Boswell’s, a £30 gift voucher from Pep&Co and a free training session
from Anytime Fitness.
At the end of a hard day’s shopping Lorraine and Kelly were thrilled
with the result and ‘made-over’ with their treat.
“Everyone at the centre has made me feel amazing”, said Lorraine.
“Kelly is always telling me how beautiful I am and today I actually feel it. I
am so happy”.
“Families are the foundation of our shopping centre and the local
community” said Daniel Kitchen, The Swan Centre Manager. “We cannot think of a
more fitting way to celebrate our local family of shoppers than to provide a
real treat for mothers like Lorraine and we hope a lot of other shoppers will
be treating their mums to gifts and goodies from our shops and stores.”
